This book has a little of everything, literally. I lived in Hollywood, right at Fountain and Vine, in the late 70s. Even in death many of these heroes are still living on and being a light to others to "keep on keeping on". I'm a fairly "conservative" parent (we don't watch shows, etc, that have disrespectful children or language) and I was okay with this book- mainly because we were reading it together, and so if the character's statement or attitude became questionable, we would pause and discuss it or go over, "Hmm, what would be a better way to say that. I strongly recommend this book for any parent whose child is experiencing difficulties in school, or for any parent, for that matter. What is the role of the church in the same-sex debate. I saw Dennis and prayed for him, seeing that God plans to increase his ministry. The book is called an "Ice Skating Mystery", but the mystery seems tacked on and it's hard to have any sense of urgency about the situation when the characters seem to find it a minor inconvenience at worst. I will still take it to a real gunsmith if needed, but that extra knowledge and understanding goes a long way in a pinch.
