There were a lot of twists throughout the story which had my jaw hitting the floor. The language is young adult friendly, as are the characters, and one of the things I truly appreciated was that the author did not spend a great deal of time overly describing characters, but allowed their descriptions to flow naturally from the narrator’s thoughts. Having read "The Circuit" by the same author, I was eager to read "La Mariposa" to my younger students. I enjoyed it very much and have recommended it to many others over the years since it was written. If you are not just reading it cover to cover, forget it, you chat find anything.
